This is an aged dual type local bark that is composted for months to give it a smooth charcoal finish. Nothing is added, especially so with our competitors who may add chemicals, dyes or compost which would get infested with germinating weed seeds. Dark fine aged is highly acidic and an excellent balance for beds around forested areas and open ares that are very wet in the fall, winter, spring seasons or exposed during dry hot summer months. A fine mix that should have placement of 2 to 4 inches depth. You will love this bark!!
